LEC Festival: S.N.C. – P. FRAPIN & Cie supports the 2024 Readers' Prize at the LEC Festival (Littératures Européennes Cognac)
Once again this year, the Readers' Prize returns for a new edition. Every third weekend in November, this major event brings together more than 1,800 readers across four departments and culminates at the LEC Festival, a key event in the city of Cognac that gathers thousands of readers around European guests. To celebrate its 20th anniversary, S.N.C. – P. FRAPIN & Cie is proud to offer its support. A meaningful commitment rooted in history.
In the 15th century, the Frapin and Rabelais families forged a strong bond that evolved over time. Several marriages attest to this, including the famous union of Antoine Rabelais and Anne-Catherine Frapin in 1480. From their union, François Rabelais (1494-1553) was born, who expressed the deep connection between the two families in the prologue of his Quart Livre: 'In Angiers there was at that time an old uncle, Lord of Saint George, named Frapin: he is the one who composed the beautiful and joyful Christmas carols in the Poitevin language.
